I wonder what will happen with the ethereum that get hacked 100%.
This was one of the most coins I hold at this time :(
Are they all confirmed lost?
In some article they said 100% of ethereum wallets got hacked. So I think we don't get the ethereum back
So if we had a positive ETH balance we would still be brought to KYC just to find that we're going out empty handed?
Good question. But I don't know how they will handle this. I hope we get more information this year
No, just a few of the ETH wallets were hacked as far as I know.
I even logged in after the hack, to check my balance, and discovered I had remaining ETH in there.
They said at the time that about 14% of our total holdings were taken. And because of this I lost about 0.2 BTC as they were going to cover losses by taking 14% of everyone's coin.
This suggests to me that they should have replaced people's balances prior to the liquidation.
I can't say for sure, but it seems logical if they took 14% of all the unhacked coins to pay for the hack, then they should have replaced all but 14% of the stolen/hacked coins.
Nothing yet. They should be rolling out the KYC stuff very shortly, after which they will supply us with the balances that were held at Cryptopia for our coins.
I suspect there will be a lot of people claiming foul about their balances (some genuine and some just trying to get something for nothing), so it's fair to assume that will probably be a long drawn out process too.
Once that hurdle has been negotiated, it's back to the courts to establish the best way to get our property back to us.
My bet is we won't receive anything until at least early/mid next year.
Sorry what does KYC stand for?

Thanks. My Structural Analysis professor is named Mohamed Sharif, ha!
It's him, smartass
How would you know that? There are probably hundreds of people with that name…
